We are a rural church, which means we start a bit early for some. 9:00 AM Acme Time (9:05-9:10 AM PST for the rest of the world) is when we get rolling. But please, do not take the early start time as a sign of a staunch crowd. The atmosphere is very relaxed and services generally start with a joke. Attendees are generally in jeans, skirts, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts - whatever is comfortable for the time of year.
As far as the order of worship is concerned, we follow a loose reformed tradition liturgy. That means we have a couple of group prayers (to include the Lord's Prayer), sing some songs throughout the service, and listen to scripture and a sermon. Once a month we celebrate Communion. There is no pressure to participate, but it you would like to all group responses are written out on screen and in a hand out (bulletin).
Our church is a multigenerational, family oriented group. The sounds and movement of children throughout the service is not considered a nuisance but a sign of a healthy congregation.
After services, we gather in our Fellowship Hall for food and refreshments. We sit and visit until our Sunday School starts shortly before 11:00 AM. At noon we are finished up with any scheduled activities.
